Hi, I’m Sara the face—and hands—behind Lemhi Leatherworks. Everything I make is handmade step by step. I design the majority of my work, starting in my sketchbook and moving to a vegetable tanned cow hide.
I started leatherwork a couple years ago and quickly became obsessed! I bought a basic tool set on a whim and kept going from there. I’ve always loved the vintage tooled purses and belts I’ve found at thrift store but it had never occurred to me I could make similar pieces. Now I find myself rushing home from my town job to sit at my workbench.
I live near Lemhi, Idaho with my husband, dogs and horses, and love sagebrush country!! My favorite things to tool are the wildflowers and wildlife around me.
